Meet Natalie:
Specialist Dyslexia Assessor & Teacher
Hello, I’m Natalie a qualified dyslexia assessor and specialist education practitioner supporting children and young people with specific learning difficulties (SpLDs) across Greater Manchester.

Through Flourish Dyslexia, I provide diagnostic dyslexia assessments, cognitive learner profile reports, specialised dyslexia tution and therapeutic support. My aim is to help families gain a clear understanding of how their child learns, what challenges they may face and the strategies and support that will help them thrive.

My Approach
My work combines professional expertise with a compassionate, family-centred approach. I believe every child or young person deserves to be understood, not just through labels or test scores but as a whole person with unique strengths and challenges.

I take time to explore how each learner thinks and learns, providing clear recommendations and practical strategies that support both confidence and progress. Whether you are seeking a diagnostic dyslexia assessment or simply want clarity about your child’s learning profile, I will guide you through every step with empathy and expertise.

My story: Why I created Flourish Dyslexia
Before I trained professionally, my journey into this work began with lived experience.
As a child with an undiagnosed Specific Learning Difficulty (SpLD) school often felt confusing, frustrating and lonely. I struggled with reading, processing and organisation. I knew I was trying but I felt constantly misunderstood. It wasn’t until much later in my education that I received an SpLD diagnosis which gave me the clarity and validation I had been missing for years.

As an adult, I was also diagnosed with autism and ADHD (audhd). These diagnoses are not just labels but reshaped how I understand learning, behaviour and the ways in which each brain processes the world differently. My neurodivergent identity gives me a deep, first-hand perspective on what it means to think and learn in non-traditional ways.

Over the years, I’ve worked across many school settings, supporting children with a wide range of additional needs including:

-
Dyslexia and other SpLDs
-
ADHD
-
Autism and social communication differences
-
Emotional and behavioural needs
-
Children with English as an additional language (EAL)
These roles give me insight into the challenges children face every day and the limitations of one-size-fits-all approaches to support. I realised that to make real change, children need both understanding and action.
